Giving to ECE

Departmental donors can create and sustain existing and new opportunities within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). The support provided will have an immediate and long-term impact on the ECE faculty, students, and staff. With over 6,000 ECE Alumni, we are one of the largest departments within the James W. Bagley College of Engineering (named after an ECE alumnus). We are very proud of the many accomplishments of our alumni and grateful to all who have, over a number of years, continuously given back to the Department.

Below are a few of the opportunities that we currently have within the ECE Department:

Scholarship and Fellowship

  1. Named Fellowship Endowment
    To provide support for doctoral students from diverse backgrounds.
  2. Named Scholarship Endowment
    To provide support for undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds.
  3. Named Graduate and Undergraduate Research Awards
    To provide an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to be recognized for their outstanding research contributions.
  4. Other Named Awards & Recognitions
    To provide support to myriad of undergraduate educational activities.

Facilities

  1. Named Laboratories: An endowment to support an ECE laboratory.
  2. Named Classrooms: An endowment for the support of a classroom in Simrall Hall.
  3. Named Spaces: An endowment for the support of student activity areas, student lounges, or a makerspace.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University consists of 23 faculty members (including 7 endowed professors), 3 clinical faculty, 10 professional and support staff, and over 700 undergraduate and graduate students with approximately 88 being at the Ph.D. level. With research expenditures of the department in excess of $10M, the department houses the largest High Voltage Laboratory among North American Universities.
