What is your favorite part about being a mentor for MSU’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering?
My favorite part about being a mentor is helping underclassmen start to think like engineers and helping them get a solid foundation on technical skills they will use later in the program.
What makes Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State a good choice for potential students?
ECE at MSU is a great choice for potential students because of the job opportunities available in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The ECE program also has a lot of research opportunities and clubs, where students can gain valuable knowledge and industry experience.
What ECE class has been your favorite class and why?
My favorite class is Capstone Senior Design. I really enjoy every part of the design process, and being able to start with an idea and finish with a solid prototype and business plan has been a really rewarding experience.
What is your favorite part about being an ECE major?
The best things about being an ECE major are the amazing people in the department and the opportunities available to students who take the initiative to seek them out.
What are some activities or experiences that you have had as part of your major?
Some of the honor societies and clubs I have had the opportunity to be a part of are IEEE, Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and Phi Kappa Phi. Of which, I am the current president of Eta Kappa Nu. I had the opportunity to work as an engineering intern for the Hol Mac Corporation and for Howard Industries. I also have the honor of being a Tau Beta Pi scholar and a recipient of the award for Best Introduction to Design Project in 2022.
