The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Associate Professor and Robert D. Guyton Chair Dr. John Ball has been elected to the EcoCAR Faculty Advisory Board (FAB) for competition year 2.
“The Faculty Advisory Board is a unique aspect of EcoCAR that brings the university perspective into the EcoCAR development process,” Ball said.
Mississippi State University has a long history of participation in the EcoCAR competitions, which provides hand-on engagement to its student participants. Ball serves as the faculty advisor for MSU’s team, but his selection to this board allows for important feedback for the nationwide competition.
FAB provides input from the teams’ perspective to the EcoCAR organizers for various aspects of EcoCAR. This can include feedback on rules, deliverables, workshops, testing events, and any other area of the student-led EcoCAR challenge.
“The organizers really value this input and believe it is critical to delivering the best possible experience to EcoCAR students,” Ball added.
More information about Ball’s role as faculty advisor for EcoCAR EV Challenge and the selection of MSU as one of the 15 universities in North America to participate in the latest EcoCAR competition may be found here.
