Dr. Junbo Zhao received the 2020 IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer Award with the citation “For dedicated volunteer service to the Chapter and outstanding technical contributions to the electric power industry and PES community.”
The IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer Award program allows each Power and Energy Society (PES) Chapter the opportunity to recognize the outstanding contributions of local engineers to the power engineering profession. This award was established in 1994 by the PES Executive Board to recognize outstanding technical, professional, and society contributions on behalf of the power engineer profession. In 2014, this was modified to recognize both more experienced members (more than 15 years) and less experienced (less than 15 years) members.
“Being recognized for service and technical contributions by IEEE PES and its chapter is a remarkable achievement. Dr. Zhao continues to shine bright through world-class research, teaching, and service,” said Dr. Khan, the ECE Department Head.
